Competition in Columbus!
This weekend, the center of Pokémon Trading Card Game action is Columbus, Ohio, where the Pokémon TCG National Championships will be held on Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th! This event takes place at the Origins International Game Expo, and nothing less than a trip to the Pokémon TCG World Championships is at stake for the top players!
Want to be part of the show? Aiming to raise your player ranking? The Pokémon National Championships are open to all players in good standing who are U.S. residents! Entry to the Championships itself is free, but in order to compete you'll need to purchase a badge to the Origins Game Expo. Players compete in one of three age divisions: Junior (born in 1996 or later), Senior (born between 1992 and 1995), or Masters (born in 1991 or earlier), with prizes awarded to the top 16 players in each division. Prizes include scholarship awards, booster packs, and more--the top 4 finishers will even take home a Nintendo Wii along with invitations to the World Championships! Plus, just for participating, all players receive a Pokémon TCG National Championships promo card and commemorative pin while supplies last!
