The 2017 Pokémon Video Game European International Championships are open to all players who have an active Play! Pokémon account and are in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program. If there’s an issue with your account, it must be reported to customer service before November 21, 2016.
Registration will be guaranteed to the first 80 Junior Division players, 120 Senior Division players, and 580 Masters Division players. While we will attempt to accommodate every player who wishes to participate, we cannot guarantee seating beyond these limits.
Players who wish to compete in a Pokémon video game event must comply with the Tournament Rules.
Masters Division players will begin on Friday and compete using a two-day Swiss format followed by single-elimination rounds. The top players—all players with a record of X–2 or better, or all players ranked in the Top 32, whichever number is greater—will advance to Day 2 of Swiss rounds on Saturday.
Junior and Senior Division players will compete Swiss rounds on Saturday, followed by single-elimination Top 8 rounds on Sunday.
When you show up at a Pokémon video game tournament, there are some things you must have with you:
A copy (physical or digital) of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
A fully charged New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, or Nintendo 2DS system.
A team of tournament-legal Pokémon (see the Tournament Rules and check back for updated rules that will be posted no later than December 1).
Players are strongly encouraged to bring a charger for their systems, as tournament staff will not have chargers available for loan.
Proof of age may be requested. Failure to provide proof of age may result in the player being denied participation in the tournament, at the organizer’s discretion.
