The 2024 Pokémon UNITE North America Regional Finals and the Final Stretch open bracket tournament will both take place at the 2024 North America International Championships (NAIC).
The Top 8 teams from the 2024 North America Regional Championship Open Qualifier will head to New Orleans, Louisiana to compete in the North America Regional Finals. There, they’ll compete for Championship Points, a $50,000 prize pool, and an invitation to the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.
At the conclusion of the North America Regional Finals, all North American teams that have not already earned an invitation to the 2024 Pokémon World Championships will compete in a last-chance tournament alongside the top Final Stretch teams at the NAIC.
Tournament Format and Structure
Teams will compete on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, using the 5-versus-5 draft pick format on the Theia Sky Ruins map in Pokémon UNITE.
North America Regional Finals
The Top 8 teams from the 2024 North America Regional Finals will compete in an invitation-only double-elimination tournament with best-of-three matches. The Grand Finals will feature best-of-five matches.
The Final Stretch
Up to 32 teams will compete in a double-elimination open bracket tournament with best-of-three matches. Matches will be played until a certain number of teams remain.
The top teams from the Final Stretch will join the remaining teams from the North America Regional Finals without a World Championships invite in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The finals will feature a best-of-five match.
What to Bring
When you show up at a Pokémon UNITE tournament, there are some things you must have with you:
-
Pokémon UNITE downloaded for either a Nintendo Switch system or a tournament legal mobile device with the latest game updates installed.
-
A fully charged Nintendo Switch system with a working USB-C port and the latest system updates installed OR a tournament-legal mobile device for competition, to be approved by tournament administration (see the Tournament Rules and check back regularly before the event for updated rules)
-
A charger for your system; it is the competitor’s responsibility that their console remains operational throughout the tournament.
Proof of age may be requested, and failure to provide proof of age may result in the competitor being denied participation in the tournament (at the organizer’s discretion).
Tournament organizers will inform competitors of additional requirements ahead of the event, including stipulations for being filmed on Thursday, June 6.
Registration
Team captains registering for Pokémon UNITE at NAIC must provide their first name, last name, email address, team name, and Pokémon Trainer Club Player IDs (or PIDs) for all players on their team’s roster, including an optional alternate. Once this information is furnished and registration costs are paid in full for the team, team members will then be able to register for the event when competitor registration opens at a later date. Team captains and competitors will also need an active RK9 account with a completed Play! Pokémon profile that includes their PID and Pokémon UNITE Trainer Name (as used in-game). Competitors who have issues completing their RK9 account should reach out to RK9 customer support for assistance.
All attendees, both spectators and competitors, will need to log in to the event registration portal with their Google account. First-time registrants will be prompted to create a profile and prior registrants will be able to edit their profile information.
Users can preemptively create or edit their account in advance of registration. When registration opens on April 25, attendees will need to log in, register, and pay to secure a pass. Online registration is required to participate in the event, and only a limited number of passes are available.
Registration will be divided into two waves at the following times:
-
Wave 1: April 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT. / 7:00 p.m. CDT
-
Wave 2: April 26, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. PDT / 9:00 a.m. CDT
Notes:
-
Registration for this event is open to all competitors in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program. Competitors must have an active Play! Pokémon account with current and accurate information.
-
After registering on the event registration portal, competitors will need to finalize their tournament registration, including their team information, on RK9.gg.
-
Competitor registration will close on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 9:59 p.m. PDT (11:59 p.m. CDT) or when passes sell out.
