Pokémon Regional and Special Championships

You can battle in the Pokémon TCG, Pokémon video game, and Pokémon GO Regional Championships, which take place all over the world! After the Pokémon International Championships, the Pokémon Regional Championships are the largest events in terms of both attendance and Championship Point payouts.

  • Cash prizes, scholarships, and gift cards

  • No qualifications or residency restrictions for tournament entry

Pokémon Special Championships are similar to Regional Championships in that they host Pokémon TCG, Pokémon video game, and Pokémon GO competitions and offer the same Championship Point payouts. However, they do not have set prizes—any prizing is at the discretion of the event organizer.

In order to participate, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and be in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program.

Registration for these events is handled by the Tournament Organizer. Many Regional Championships require online registration, and events may sell out. Please check the Event Locator for details about each event, including information regarding registration.

2025 Pokémon Regional and Special Championships Schedule

All Regional and Special Championships will include Pokémon TCG, Pokémon video game, and Pokémon GO events. The Special Championships are noted in green on the table below.

Main events take place on Saturday and Sunday. Event listings that include a Friday date feature side events and smaller competitions on that day.

Booster Packs and Cash Prizing

Players will receive Pokémon TCG booster packs for competing in Pokémon TCG, Pokémon video game, and Pokémon GO Championship Events. The number of booster packs earned is based on individual placement, as well as the number of participants in an event. Prizing that is dependent on the attendance of the event is referred to as a Kicker.

We’re expanding the booster pack prize Kicker in the 2025 season for the majority of Championship Events. Here is the breakdown of booster pack prizes:
