The Pokémon World Championships host a full schedule of side events open to all attendees who have an official event badge, regardless of whether the attendee is playing in the main event. Come battle for great prizes in smaller Pokémon TCG and video game competitions throughout the weekend. It's a great opportunity to compete against players from around the world.
Most side events require an entry fee. Side event registration opens Friday at 9:30 AM, Saturday at 8 a.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. The prize wall closes on Sunday when the closing ceremony starts (early Sunday afternoon). Prizes must be redeemed by that time. See the side events area at the Pokémon World Championships for more details.

Pokkén Tournament DX Side Events
8-player Pokkén Tournament DX pickup tournaments will run all three days during the World Championships. The cost for each event is $5 per player. Pickup tournaments will run at the following times:
Friday, August 24: 10 a.m.–9 p.m.
Saturday, August 25: 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
Sunday, August 26: 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
VGC Multi Cup Format
Standard Multi Battle with VGC 2018 ruleset. Participants play as a team. Each player pays entry and each player is awarded tickets. No communication between team members.
TCG 4-player Sealed Draft Format
Players will receive a Build and Battle Kit and draft cards from the 4 packs contained within. For reference please review section 11.2.2 of the Play! Pokémon TCG Rules and Formats document.
Most scheduled side events will take place over four swiss rounds. Players will receive prize wall tickets based on their record after the completion of the fourth round. There are no player caps for the scheduled side events.
