It’s time to celebrate the power of light overcoming darkness with Pokémon GO’s Festival of Lights. This special event will take place from Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, and feature the Pokémon GO debut of Dedenne—plus tons more fun!

Dedenne, Mischief, and Bonuses

Dedenne, an Electric- and Fairy-type Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut during the Festival of Lights. This adorable little Pokémon was originally discovered in the Kalos region—and now you can add it to your Pokémon GO Pokédex!

The Season of Mischief will continue alongside the Festival of Lights event. If you complete this Season’s Special Research story, Misunderstood Mischief, you’ll gain access to an exclusive Special Research story about Hoopa. Forge a strong bond with Hoopa, and help Professor Willow explore the many mysteries of this mischievous Mythical Pokémon.

The Festival of Lights will also bring bonuses that can help strengthen your friendships and spread joy. Throughout the event, Friendship levels will increase twice as fast, Gifts will provide increased rewards, and you’ll be able to open up to 45 Gifts each day.

Wild Encounters and Field Research

The Festival of Lights will also see the following Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild: Pikachu, Magnemite, Slugma, Whismur, Electrike, Blitzle, Cottonee, Tynamo, Fennekin, and Dedenne. You might even encounter a Darumaka or a Litwick. If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Pikachu, Magnemite, Whismur, Electrike, Blitzle, or Darumaka.

By completing Field Research tasks, you can earn an encounter with Pokémon such as Vulpix, Magnemite, Electabuzz, Magmar, Electrike, Blitzle, Darumaka, Litleo, and Dedenne. Lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Vulpix, Magnemite, Electabuzz, Magmar, Electrike, Blitzle, or Darumaka.
