Earth Day, the annual eco-friendly celebration, came and went, and Pokémon GO developer Niantic invited players to pitch in to promote environmental awareness. As a reward for everyone’s efforts, a special Earth Day event that’s open to the entire Pokémon GO community has been unlocked.

From Monday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m. to Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, “earthy” Pokémon will be the center of attention as Ground-type Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you could even encounter a Shiny Diglett! The Legendary Ground-type Pokémon Groudon will also show up in raids during the event. Plus, any Ground-type Pokémon that you catch during this Earth Day event will earn you twice as much Stardust and Candy!

Now’s a perfect time to get out and appreciate our beautiful planet. So enjoy a nice walk, Trainers, and catch plenty of Ground-type Pokémon!
