Pokémon GO is sending out the year out in style with the massive December 2024 Community Day event, which brings back Pokémon featured in previous Community Days! This incredible catch-a-thon spans two days, on Saturday, December 21, and Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Pokémon that were featured during Community Days in 2024 will appear more frequently in the wild, and Pokémon featured during 2023 Community Days will hatch from Eggs. You’ll also be able to evolve a wide variety of Pokémon that know featured attacks.

Additionally, there will be a bevy of bonuses available during the event.

• 2× XP for catching Pokémon.

• 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.

• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.

• 1/2 Hatch Distance for Eggs placed into Incubators during the event period.

• 2× chance for Trainers Level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon.

• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.

• Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.

• Trades made during the event will require 50% less Stardust (from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time each day).

• One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two per day (from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time each day).

If you missed out on any of 2024’s Community Days, this event is the perfect chance to make up for it—Pokémon that were featured during Community Days in 2024 will once again appear more frequently in the wild! Certain Pokémon will be featured each day, and the Pokémon that appear at the times listed below will have the same chance of appearing as Shiny Pokémon as when they appeared during their Community Day event.

Evolve any of the following Pokémon between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. local time on each day of the event to get a Pokémon that knows a featured attack!

• Evolve Poliwhirl (Poliwag’s Evolution) to get a Poliwrath that knows the Fast Attack Counter.

• Evolve Poliwhirl (Poliwag’s Evolution) with a King’s Rock to get a Politoed that knows the Charged Attack Ice Beam.

• Evolve Weepinbell (Bellsprout’s Evolution) to get a Victreebel that knows the Fast Attack Magical Leaf.

• Evolve Ponyta or Galarian Ponyta to get a Rapidash or Galarian Rapidash that knows the Charged Attack Wild Charge.

Pokémon GO December 2024 Community Day Research

During the event, there will be Timed Research and Field Research tasks that award items and encounters with Pokémon. A Community Day Special Research ticket is also available for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) in the in-game shop, and you can even purchase a ticket as a gift for a friend who you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Complete these Special Research tasks to receive a Rocket Radar, an Elite Fast TM, an Elite Charged TM, encounters with featured Pokémon with a Special Background, and more.
