Jigglypuff Wearing a Ribbon Debuts in Pokémon GO’s New Year’s 2024 Event

The New Year’s 2024 event features costumed Pokémon, event bonuses, fireworks, and more.

As 2023 draws to a close, a new year filled with exciting events—and, of course, Pokémon—is just around the corner. Ring in 2024 with the Pokémon GO New Year’s 2024 event from January 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to January 3, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Jigglypuff wearing a ribbon is dressed to impress in its Pokémon GO debut, while festive fireworks will light up the in-game skies with a celebratory vibe. Trainers will also enjoy half Hatch Distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event.

Jigglypuff’s not the only Pokémon all gussied up for the occasion. Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit will appear in the wild as well. Other Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild include Bronzor and Darumaka—and many festively attired Pokémon will appear in raids!

The following Pokémon will be the first to appear in raids in 2024.

New Year, New Research

Throughout the event, Trainers can complete Field Research tasks to earn Stardust and encounters with Bronzor and Darumaka. Paid Timed Research is also available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing in your local currency). Research tasks must be completed before the event concludes to earn Stardust, XP, PokéCoins, and encounters with event-specific Pokémon.
