Marnie (Champion) & Moltres
Leon is hosting the second edition of the Neo Champion Stadium, and Trainers from Galar are itching to defeat the undefeated Champion. Among those Trainers is Marnie from Spikemuth—and she’s sporting a new punk-inspired outfit alongside the powerful Galarian Moltres. Marnie (Champion) & Moltres are a Dark-type strike sync pair that thrive in tough situations thanks to their passive skill Mind over Matter 4, which increases their Sp. Atk by 40% when their HP is reduced. When they’re really in trouble, the sync pair can show off their grit with their buddy move, B Fiery Wrath, which does 20% more damage when they’re in a pinch.
Marnie (Champion) & Moltres will be available to scout until April 8, 2023, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.

Recommended Pairs to Partner with Marnie (Champion) & Moltres
Skyla & Swanna
Marnie (Champion) & Moltres can fully raise their own Sp. Atk and critical-hit rate, but the pair from Galar needs a bit of help from support sync pairs to shore up their defenses. Skyla & Swanna can quickly raise Marnie (Champion) & Moltres’s Defense and Speed by two stat ranks for each use of their Trainer move Take Flight! Since Marnie (Champion) & Moltres like to straddle the line between having low HP and being healthy, Skyla & Swanna can also use Potion up to two times to assure that the Neo Champion pair won’t get knocked out. Potion restores an ally’s HP by approximately 40% of its maximum HP, and well-timed use should keep Marnie (Champion) & Moltres on the field. Skyla & Swanna can be acquired after completing Chapter 5 of the main story.
Melony & Lapras
In battles where Marnie (Champion) & Moltres go up against special attackers, Melony & Lapras are another great pair to have on the team. Melony & Lapras can raise Marnie (Champion) & Moltres’s Sp. Def by two stat ranks with each use of their Trainer move I Won’t Hold Back! Additionally, Melony & Lapras can apply both the Physical Damage Reduction and Special Damage Reduction effects to the allied field of play with G-Max Resonance, keeping their fellow sync pair from the Galar region safe and sound. Melony & Lapras are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs.
