A new Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Ranked Battles season has begun! This is a great time to dive into the action to test your Trainer skills in head-to-head battles with players around the world, move up the global leaderboards, and earn helpful in-game rewards.
Running until August 31, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, Ranked Battles Season 9 will follow Regulation Set D. Also, Pokémon are allowed to Terastallize during battle.
Eligible Pokémon
Eligible Pokémon for Ranked Battles Season 9 include Paldea Pokédex No. 001–398, as well as some Pokémon that don’t appear in the Paldea Pokédex but can be obtained in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet or brought into these games via Pokémon HOME. Certain Pokémon may not be used. See the end of this article for a detailed list of eligible Pokémon.
Season 9 Rewards
Before battle, you’ll be matched up with players of similar rank to ensure even competition. The higher the tier you finish in, the greater your in-game rewards after the season concludes. Season 9 rewards include the following:

How to Start a Ranked Battle
To start a Ranked Battle, follow these steps:

Launch your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game.

Open the X menu.

Select Poké Portal.

Select Battle Stadium.

Select Ranked Battles.
How to Receive In-Game Rewards
You will need to finish at least one match with a win or loss during Season 9 to be eligible for rewards at the end of the season. To receive your in-game rewards, follow these steps:

After the season has ended, launch your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game.

Open the X menu.

Select Poké Portal.

Select Battle Stadium.

Select Ranked Battles.
