What happens when a human baby is raised by Pokémon in an exotic jungle landscape? You’ll find out in Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle when it releases next year. But you don’t have to wait until then to meet some of the Pokémon and characters featured in the film, because a themed Pokémon GO event is happening right now!
You can participate in Special Research guided by none other than Team Rocket’s Jessie and James! Completing this Special Research will earn you an encounter with a Shiny Celebi—one of the Pokémon prominently featured in Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle. You may also run into Jessie and James either in GO Snapshot or on the map in their iconic Meowth balloon, and avatar items inspired by the troublesome duo will be available in the in-game shop.
Pokémon featured in Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle are appearing more frequently in the wild from now through December 17. Also keep an eye out for Explorer Pikachu through December 21, especially during Pokémon Spotlight Hour on December 15 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time.
