Artists have just a little over two months remaining to enter the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2024. With entries closing January 31, 2024, at 5:59 a.m. PST, illustrators may be looking for inspiration before creating artwork that captures this year’s theme, “Magical Pokémon Moments.” Pokémon TCG illustrator Atsushi Furusawa has plenty of experience capturing the spirit and beauty of Pokémon, having created artwork for dozens of Pokémon TCG cards featuring Pokémon like Arcanine, Morpeko, Toxtricity, and more. In “Bringing an Illustration to Life,” he shared information about his process, inspiration, and artistic style.

Artists entering the contest can choose from a handful of Pokémon, including Charizard, Pikachu, Eevee, Feraligatr, Flygon, Absol, Bidoof, Melmetal, Amped Form Toxtricity, or Koraidon. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top artists in a handful of categories, and the top winning illustrations will be made into promo cards. Promo card distribution will vary by country.
