On August 8, 2023, Takato Utsunomiya, Chief Operating Officer of The Pokémon Company, hosted the Pokémon Presents presentation above, which features updates about Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, along with the games’ upcoming DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.
Additionally, there was more news about Detective Pikachu Returns, classic Pokémon games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, Pokémon GO, Pokémon Sleep, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon Masters EX, and Pokémon Café ReMix. Plus, we learned about the new animated series Pokémon Horizons: The Series, Pokémon: Paldean Winds, and Pokémon: Path to the Peak. There are also more details about the 2023 Pokémon World Championships, which are almost upon us!

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet
Fan-favorite Pokémon are the star of the show during the Get Mew and Mewtwo! event in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. You can bring the Mythical Pokémon Mew to your team right now by entering the password GETY0URMEW in the Mystery Gift menu. Meanwhile, Mewtwo will be appearing in an upcoming Tera Raid Battle event. Will you be able to defeat this Mewtwo with the Mightiest Mark? There will also be special Tera Raid Battle events that will help you challenge this Legendary Pokémon.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero
More details were revealed about The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, the upcoming two-part DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, including its initial release date of September 13, 2023. Part 1: The Teal Mask takes place in the land of Kitakami, where you’ll encounter Dipplin, which is a new Evolution of Applin, and the heroic Pokémon known as the Loyal Three: Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. In Part 2: The Indigo Disk, you’ll attend Blueberry Academy as an exchange student. You’ll discover a variety of biomes that are home to many different Pokémon, challenge fellow students in the BB League, and face off against their Elite Four. There are other new activities and ways to play in this extended adventure, too!
Detective Pikachu Returns
The adventures of the “Great Detective” Pikachu continue in this upcoming title for Nintendo Switch. Detective Pikachu and his partner, Tim, join forces to solve the mystery of Tim’s missing father. This presentation introduces some of the people and Pokémon our valiant heroes meet during their investigation.

An online original animated series set in the Paldea region is on its way. Pokémon: Paldean Winds follows several academy students as they come into their own, growing and learning as they attend school. Be sure to check out the full trailer for the series, and look for it on the official Pokémon YouTube channel when it premieres.
2023 Pokémon World Championships
Pokémon players from around the world will gather at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama, Japan, from August 11 to 13. Chris Brown from The Pokémon Company International and Rikiya Watanabe from The Pokémon Company shared new information about a special Pokémon TCG promo card and Pikachu plush that competitors will receive, as well as some of the activities visitors can enjoy at the event, including the Pokémon Trainer Cruise and Pikachu parades.
Pokémon: Path to the Peak
Andy Gose of The Pokémon Company International introduced a new short animated series that will premiere at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. Pokémon: Path to the Peak tells the story of Ava, who strives to enter the world of competitive Pokémon Trading Card Game play. She works alongside her family, friends, and partner Pokémon, Oddish, to rise to the very top! The first episode of the series will release on the official Pokémon YouTube channel on August 11, 2023.
Nintendo Switch Online
A pair of classic Pokémon games was just released on the Nintendo Switch Online service. Experience the world of the Pokémon TCG in video game form with Pokémon Trading Card Game, now on Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online, and battle in exciting head-to-head matches (and play fun minigames!) in Pokémon Stadium 2 on Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online.
Pokémon GO
Pokémon GO has already featured plenty of excitement this summer with Pokémon GO Fest 2023 events in London, England, and Osaka, Japan. Starting August 18, the next Pokémon GO Fest event will be held in New York City, USA, and the two-day digital Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Global event will take place on August 26 and 27! At this year’s Pokémon GO Fest, Diancie makes its Pokémon GO debut—and yes, it can Mega Evolve! Mega Rayquaza will also be appearing in Raid Battles, so get your team ready for a fierce encounter. Plus, this September, Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Paldea region will begin to appear in the wild! You’ll need plenty of Poké Balls to add these Pokémon to your team.
Pokémon Sleep
Hopefully you’ve been resting your very best with Pokémon Sleep. You’ll be able to meet even more sleepy Pokémon during the upcoming Good Sleep Day in-game event, which will occur on the night of the full moon. On Good Sleep Days, Drowsy Power will be powered up, which should help you encounter Pokémon with rare sleep styles.
Pokémon UNITE
A new type of battle—Panic Parade—has come to Pokémon UNITE. In Panic Parade, you and your teammates protect Tinkaton from wild Pokémon. Plus, the mighty Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo is joining the fray in Pokémon UNITE. With Unite License X: Mewtwo, you can Mega Evolve Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo X. And starting August 17, Unite License Y: Mewtwo will also be available, which allows players to Mega Evolve Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo Y, who battles differently. There will also be a variety of special events tying into the game’s 2nd Anniversary, as well as the 2023 Pokémon World Championships!
Pokémon Masters EX
The first sync pair from the Paldea region—Nemona & Pawmot—is coming to Pokémon Masters EX. This duo is a special sync pair with the new sprint role, and they excel at attacking quickly. How will this change the way you battle? Plus, starting August 16, Victor & Spectrier will appear in-game as a sync pair with the new field role, which excels at field effects. Be sure to log in to the game to claim a gift of 3,000 gems to celebrate this Pokémon Presents!
Pokémon Café ReMix
No, you’re not serving up sushi in Pokémon Café ReMix—it’s just the appearance of the Mimicry Pokémon, Tatsugiri, at the café. Other special Pokémon are arriving on the scene as well, including a “summer fun” Jigglypuff and a five-star chef “tropical” Vaporeon.
