Competitors at the 2024 Pokémon GO North America International Championships will be competing for Championship Points and prizes. All participants will receive 5 Play! Points and a Pokémon International Championships promo card (while supplies last) just for playing! Play will begin on June 7 and conclude on June 9.
Competitors must comply with the Tournament Rules.
Tournament Format and Structure
Competitors will compete in groups in double-elimination brackets using the Great League format in Pokémon GO. The top competitors from each group will advance to the Finals bracket. Tournament pairings will be posted to Challonge. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with Challonge prior to the event.
Matches are best of three, except for the Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals, which are best of five.
What to Bring
When you show up for the Pokémon GO tournament, you will need to have a team of tournament-legal Pokémon for the Great League format in your Pokémon GO account. Pokémon on the Pokémon GO Championships Banned Pokémon list are not permitted for play.
Competitors will compete on smartphones provided by the organizer. Competitors will be expected to log in and log out during the tournament. It is the competitor’s responsibility to log out of the device after each match concludes.
You will be provided with a copy of your Team Preview List at the beginning of the tournament. You are responsible for looking after this, as you will need to present it to each of your opponents per the Match Structure guidelines in section 5.1 of the Pokémon GO Tournament Rules.
Proof of age may be requested, and failure to provide proof of age may result in the competitor being denied participation in the tournament (at the organizer’s discretion). Competitors must satisfy the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) age of digital consent in their home region to participate in Pokémon GO Championship Series events.
Any lists not submitted on time may result in a Round 1 loss. Please read RK9’s support article about preparing for a Pokémon GO event.
