Q: How will I know if I have qualified?
A: Pokémon TCG and VG players who qualify for the Region Online Qualifiers will be emailed a link to begin the registration process.
Q: If I qualify for the Region Online Qualifiers, what email will be used to contact me?
A: You will be contacted at the email address attached to your Pokémon Trainer Club Account. Please make sure this email address, and the other information on your profile, is up-to-date in order to compete in the Pokémon Players Cup.
Q: What format will be played?
A: The Pokémon TCG tournament will use the Standard format. Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will use the 2020 Pokémon Video Game Championships Format. Pokkén Tournament DX will use Basic Battle (1v1).
Q: During the Region Online Qualifiers, how many games will make up a match?
A: Matches for all Region Online Qualifiers will be best-of-3.
Q: Which countries are eligible, and what region will they be in*?
A: North America: Canada (except Quebec), United States of America (including Puerto Rico)
Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Q: Why does Oceania have fewer slots?
A: The only countries supported for Oceania for this competition are Australia and New Zealand. With fewer eligible players than other regions, there are fewer spots available.
Q: Why is the Players Cup only supporting the Masters Division?
A: Several third-party platforms require accounts that don’t support younger age divisions. A way to support younger divisions is being continually evaluated.
Qualifying Through the Pokémon TCG Online Leaderboard
Q: What is Tournament Rep?
A: Tournament Rep is a reflection of your prowess in Pokémon TCG Online tournaments. The amount of Tournament Rep earned from each tournament is based on the total number of participants and your final placement in that tournament. The better you finish, the more Tournament Rep you earn.
Q: How do I see my Tournament Rep standing in the TCG Online?
A: TCG Online standings are displayed on the forums.pokemontcg.com Leaderboard page.
Q: Who is eligible?
A: To be eligible, the account a player uses to earn Tournament Rep in the TCG Online must have a Player ID and be opted into the Play! Pokémon program. All accounts must be in good standing and be from one of the supported countries.
Q: Can I share my account with someone else?
A: No. The Pokémon Players Cup is a tournament for each player to test their own skills. Sharing accounts may lead to disqualification.
Q: How do I play in tournaments in the TCG Online?
A: After logging in to the game, click on the Play! button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then choose “Events” to view the list of available tournaments. Standard format Tournament Rep can be earned only by playing in “Standard: 8 Ticket” tournaments. Each tournament requires 8 Event Tickets for entry.
Q: How do I earn Event Tickets in the TCG Online?
A: Event Tickets can be earned via the game’s Daily Bonus, playing matches in Versus Mode, or as a random reward at the conclusion of tournament matches. Event Tickets are not tradable and cannot be transferred between accounts.
Q: What time frame is covered by the Pokémon TCG Online leaderboard for each month?
A: Games played between 18:00 UTC on the 26th of the previous month and 17:59 UTC on the 26th of the current month count toward the current month.
Q: How do I participate in the Pokkén Tournament DX event?
A: Pokkén Tournament DX players will be able to register online near the end of June. Information will appear on pokemon.com when registration is open.
Q: Will the number of spaces for Pokkén Tournament DX Online Region Qualifiers increase?
A: If demand is extreme, the capacity will be revaluated.
Q: In Pokkén Tournament DX, will anything be done to mitigate lag?
A: Players will need to meet a minimum internet speed test in order to participate.
Q: Why is there not an Online Region Qualifier for Latin America?
A: The qualification regions match support provided at the International Championships, and Pokkén Tournament DX is not currently supported at the Latin America International Championships.
