The 2014 Pokémon TCG World Championships are the ultimate test of a player’s Pokémon TCG skills, strategy, and creativity. Each year, Champions are awarded the most prestigious title in the Play! Pokémon Championship Series: Pokémon TCG World Champion!

The Pokémon TCG World Championships will take place from Friday, August 15, through Sunday, August 17, 2014.

How can I play at the Pokémon TCG World Championships?
The Pokémon TCG World Championships is an invitation-only event, meaning that only those players who qualify will be able to compete for the title of Pokémon World Champion.
Qualified players are encouraged to confirm their plans to attend the 2014 World Championships at 2014.registration.pokemon.com. Qualifications are based on Championship Points earned at official tournaments. Players must have earned at least the number of Championship Points listed below, based on their age division and where they live. Points earned beyond the required target are not used.

How much does the event cost?
There is no entry fee to participate in the World Championships. The Last Chance Qualifier is free to enter for Junior and Senior Division players and has a $30 entry fee for Masters Division players.
Other Information
Qualifying and Travel Award winners should have received a link to important information about the event. Please make sure you read this thoroughly and return any requested documents to Pokémon Organized Play by the deadlines given. If you do not, you may lose your seat in the event.
You must bring your own deck to play. Your deck must comply with the Standard Format as outlined in the Pokémon Organized Play Tournament Formats document.
The expansions Black & White—Next Destinies through XY—Flashfire will be legal for play at the 2014 Pokémon TCG World Championships.
To participate in the event, you must be a player in good standing and abide by the Pokémon Tournament Rules and all other applicable event rules.

What is the tournament structure?
The tournament is run using the Standard Format and Swiss plus Single Elimination pairings. The number of Swiss rounds will depend on total attendance at the event.
After Swiss rounds are complete, there will be a cut to single-elimination finals. The top players from each age division (numbers to be determined by final attendance) will then play in the single-elimination finals. Each round will last 75 minutes plus 3 turns. Both Swiss rounds and single-elimination finals will use a best-of-three game format.
What are the prizes?
Prizes are awarded to the top 32 players in each age division.
The divisions are:
Junior Division:
Born in 2003 or later
Senior Division:
Born in 1999, 2000, 2001, or 2002
Masters Division:
Born in 1998 or earlier
