Have you heard the latest buzz? The Bug Out event is returning to Pokémon GO, giving Trainers the chance to catch all sorts of creepy, crawly, and totally cute Bug-type Pokémon. From Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you’ll encounter Bug-type Pokémon more frequently in the wild, face off against Bug-type Raid Bosses, enjoy special Field Research tasks, and more!

Bug Out Event Bonuses

During the hours of the event, you’ll be able to take advantage of the following bonuses.

• 2× XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.

• Increased Candy for Nice Throws or better.

• Increased Candy XL for Nice Throws or better for Trainers level 31 and up.

• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Combee and Shiny Burmy.

Bug Out Wild Encounters

Throughout the entirety of the Bug Out event, you may see the following Pokémon more frequently in the wild. The Pokémon in italics have a chance of appearing as Shiny Pokémon!

• Caterpie

• Weedle

• Shuckle

• Wurmple

• Kricketot

• Combee

• Sewaddle

• Dwebble

Some Trainers might even encounter the following Pokémon.

• Nincada

• Cutiefly

Bug Out Raid Battles

During the Bug Out event, the following Pokémon will appear in Raid Battles. As before, the Pokémon in italics have a chance of appearing as Shiny Pokémon.

One-Star Raids

• Pineco

• Shuckle

• Nincada

• Skorupi

Three-Star Raids

• Beedrill

• Pinsir

• Kleavor

Five-Star Raids

• Tapu Bulu

Mega Raids

• Mega Charizard X (until April 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time)

• Mega Heracross

Once two or more Trainers successfully complete an in-person raid together, more Pokémon will appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 15 minutes.

Bug Out Field Research

During the Bug Out event, there will be themed Field Research tasks that grant encounters with the following Pokémon once you complete them. Once again, the Pokémon in italics have a chance of appearing as Shiny Pokémon.

• Paras

• Venonat

• Plant Cloak Burmy

• Sandy Cloak Burmy

• Trash Cloak Burmy

• Karrablast

• Shelmet

• Dewpider

• Wimpod

There will also be certain Field Research tasks that award Mega Energy for the following Pokémon.

• Mega Beedrill

• Mega Pinsir

• Mega Scizor

Other Bug Out Activities

The Bug Out event will also feature themed Collection Challenges that award Trainers with encounters and Mega Energy for certain Bug-type Pokémon, and PokéStop Showcases where you can enter event-themed Pokémon. New avatar items will be available for purchase in the in-game shop, including Burmy-themed earrings and bags inspired by Combee. These items will continue to be available after the event ends.
