Battle Gengar to earn sweet treats and look out for Ghost-type Pokémon with unique marks.

Enjoy the spooky season while playing the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games! You’ll be able to celebrate Pokéween with a pair of in-game events from Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Look forward to battling Ghost–Tera Type Gengar in 5-star Tera Raid Battles and chasing after Ghost-type Pokémon in mass outbreaks across Paldea.


Gorge on Rare Candy from Gengar Raids

Gengar will appear more often in 5-star Tera Raid Battles and award brave victors with tons of Rare Candyperfect for powering up your Pokémon! These Gengar will have Ghost as their Tera Type, so if you can figure out the Shadow Pokémon’s tricks, you’ll have plenty of treats waiting! This is also a good opportunity to earn some Ghost Tera Shards, so don’t miss out this Pokéween!

Whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon. To find the Tera Pokémon featured in this event, you’ll also need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Select Poké Portal in the X menu.

  2. Select Mystery Gift.

  3. Select Check Poké Portal News.

Get Ghostly with Spooky Mass Outbreaks

If you’re looking to find a spooky partner Pokémon for the holidays, you’re in luck, because Gastly, Misdreavus, Shuppet, and Bramblin will be haunting mass outbreaks across the Paldea region. Pokémon encountered in these special mass outbreaks are more likely to have the Crafty Mark, so enjoy catching these opportunistic Ghost types on the prowl for tricks and treats. Mass outbreaks are a phenomenon in which many of the same species of Pokémon appear in one location. To participate in mass outbreak events, you will need to download the latest Poké Portal News and install the latest update data for your game.


Marks

Occasionally, you may catch or receive a Pokémon with a mark. Any marks a Pokémon has come with titles that you can choose to have displayed when you send the Pokémon into battle.


How to View and Assign Marks

  1. Select a Pokémon in your party or your Boxes, then select Check summary.

  2. From the Pokémon Status Summary screen, navigate left or right to the Memories screen.

  3. If the Pokémon you are viewing has a mark but is not currently displaying a title, Assign a Ribbon or Mark will be shown on the right. Press the A Button, and you can assign a mark to the Pokémon and display the associated title.
