Froakie Offers a Ribbiting Good Time During Pokémon GO’s August 2023 Community Day

Make the most of Special Research, event bonuses, and a featured attack for Greninja.

Pokémon GO’s August 2023 Community Day is set to be all it’s croaked up to be—and more! On August 13, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, Froakie will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Froakie!

If you evolve Frogadier—Froakie’s Evolution—during the event or up to five hours afterward, you’ll get a Greninja that knows the Water-type Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. On top of that, all Greninja will now be able to learn the Water-type Fast Attack Water Shuriken.

Enjoy these event bonuses from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.

  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.

  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and above to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.

  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.

  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will last for three hours.

Plus, the following bonuses will stay in effect from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time!

  • Enjoy one additional Special Trade for a maximum of three for the day.

  • Trades will require 50% less Stardust.

A Community Day Special Research story, A Bubbly Disposition, will also be available through the end of the event for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). And don’t forget that Trainers can purchase tickets for friends that they’ve reached a friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. To give the gift of research, simply tap the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button in the in-game shop.

Bonus Raids

Make the most of the Community Day fun with four-star Raid Battles featuring Frogadier from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. After a successful Raid Battle, more Froakie will appear in the area for 30 minutes. These four-star raids can only be joined in person using Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes.

Hoppy Community Day, Trainers!
