Stoke the flames or step into darkness during Pokémon GO’s Dark Flames event taking place from June 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to July 2, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.Turtonator will make its Pokémon GO debut in raids, and you might even encounter a Shiny one—if you’re lucky! Wreaking massive mayhem on the dark side is the Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon Mega Sableye, making its Pokémon GO debut in Mega Raids. Team GO Rocket is also fanning the fire: Grunts using Fire-type and Dark-type Pokémon will appear more often at PokéStops and in balloons.
Fire-type and Dark-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild and in raids during the Dark Flames event. The Pokémon in italics have a chance of appearing as Shiny Pokémon!

Event-themed Timed Research will be available during the event, where you can choose either a path focused on Fire-type Pokémon or Dark-type Pokémon. Complete research tasks to earn a Premium Battle Pass, 15,000 XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Your chosen path will determine which Collection Challenge you receive and whether Fire-type or Dark-type Pokémon are attracted to Incense. Complete the Collection Challenge before the end of the event to earn 5,000 XP and 100 Houndoom Mega Energy.
