The Water-type Pokémon Piplup will be the star of January’s Pokémon GO Community Day, and you’ll definitely want to catch as many of this Pokémon as you can during the event! In the northern hemisphere, this month’s Community Day event will happen on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. In the southern hemisphere, the event will happen on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.
Piplup will appear much more frequently in the wild and in raids during this time, and if you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny Piplup! If you evolve Prinplup (the evolved form of Piplup) into Empoleon during the event or up to two hours afterward, the Empoleon will know the attack Hydro Cannon, which it can’t normally learn!
By spinning PokéStops during Community Day hours, you may receive Eggs that will hatch into Piplup. Plus, Lure Modules will last for three hours, and Eggs will require one-quarter the usual Hatch Distance when placed in Incubators during the event.
Have fun on Piplup Community Day, Trainers!
