Fans of adorably round Pokémon, look no feather—Pokémon GO’s first Community Day in 2024 features Rowlet. The Grass Quill Pokémon, originally discovered in Alola, will be the star on January 6, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Rowlet will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky Trainers might even catch a Shiny Rowlet! Evolve Dartrix—Rowlet’s first Evolution—during the event or five hours afterward to get a Decidueye that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant. Starting with this event, Decidueye will also be able to learn the Ghost-type Fast Attack Spirit Shackle.

Get ready to take aim and catch plenty of Rowlet with the following event bonuses.

• 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon

• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon

• 2× chances for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon

• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours

• Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours

• Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise

• One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day (from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time)

• Trades will require 50% less Stardust (from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time)

If you want to take your Community Day to the nest level and obtain even more Rowlet Candy during the event, be sure to Mega Evolve a Pokémon that matches one of Rowlet’s types—Grass or Flying. If your Mega-Evolved Pokémon’s Mega Level is at least High Level, you’ll also have a higher chance of receiving Candy XL while catching the Grass Quill Pokémon.

Research

Swoop into themed Field Research to earn Stardust, Ultra Balls, additional encounters with Rowlet, and more. The Rowlet Community Day–exclusive Special Research story will be available in the in-game shop for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). You can even give the gift of research by purchasing a ticket for a friend that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with!

Bonus Raids

Make the most of the Community Day fun with four-star Raid Battles featuring Dartrix from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. After a successful Raid Battle, more Rowlet will appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. These four-star raids are not accessible via Remote Raid Passes—they can only be accessed with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes.
