Sharpen Your Skills with Ceruledge in Pokémon UNITE

Slash through the competition with the Fire Blades Pokémon in Pokémon UNITE.

Embrace the bane of a Bitter Blade with Ceruledge in Pokémon UNITE. This Fire- and Ghost-type Pokémon is an Evolution of Charcadet, a Pokémon that was recently discovered in the Paldea region. Now, the Fire Blades Pokémon is slashing onto Aeos Island as an All-Rounder with a penchant for swordplay infused with flickering flames and spectral drain. You’ll start each match with the upstart Charcadet, but evolving it into the ghoulish Ceruledge will be well worth the wait.

You can obtain a Unite license for the Melee All-Rounder Ceruledge for 14,000 Aeos coins or 575 Aeos gems at the Unite Battle Committee shop. Ceruledge will only be obtainable with Aeos gems for the first seven days of its release. Read on to learn more about the Fire Blades Pokémon before slicing into action on Aeos Island.

Ceruledge Basics

Ability (Charcadet): Flame Body

When Charcadet hits opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, it deals damage around itself with flames. This Ability goes on cooldown after it’s triggered.

Ability (Ceruledge): Weak Armor

When Ceruledge takes Attack-based damage, its movement speed is increased for a short time. This effect can stack up to two times. If Ceruledge deals damage to opposing Pokémon with its basic attack or moves, the Pokémon hit receive a wound. Life energy leaks out of these wounds, causing damage over time. This effect can stack up to six times. If the effect stacks six times on an opposing Pokémon, that Pokémon takes increased damage from Ceruledge.

Basic Attack (Charcadet)

Every third attack becomes a boosted attack, dealing increased damage.

Basic Attack (Ceruledge)

Every fourth attack becomes a boosted attack, dealing damage twice. The next basic attack after using a move becomes a boosted attack.

Lv. 1 & 3 Moves

Lava Plume

Ceruledge torches the area around itself with an inferno of scarlet flames, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. Ceruledge’s next basic attack deals increased damage.

Take Down

Ceruledge charges recklessly in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. Ceruledge’s basic attack speed is increased for a short time.

Lv. 5 Moves

Bitter Blade

Ceruledge focuses its bitter feelings toward the world of the living into a slashing attack. Ceruledge recovers HP based on the amount of damage this move deals. Any HP recovered that exceeds Ceruledge’s max HP is converted into a shield. Bitter Blade can be upgraded to increase the amount of HP recovered.

Psycho Cut

Ceruledge launches a blade formed by psychic power in the designated direction, dealing damage and applying a slowing effect to opposing Pokémon it hits. Opposing Pokémon hit by this move have their Defense decreased for a short time. If Ceruledge hits opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, Psycho Cut’s cooldown is reduced. Psycho Cut can be upgraded to further decrease the Defense of Pokémon hit by this move.

Lv. 7 Moves

Phantom Force

Ceruledge dashes and disappear into darkness, where it hides for a short time. While it is hiding, it cannot move. When Phantom Force is used again, Ceruledge appears in the designated direction while slashing around itself, dealing damage that ignores Defense and shields to opposing Pokémon it hits and applying a slowing effect to them. If Phantom Force hits opposing Pokémon, its cooldown is reduced. Phantom Force can be upgraded to reduce its cooldown.

Flame Charge

Ceruledge cloaks itself in flame and charges in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. Ceruledge’s basic attack speed is increased for a short time after using Flame Charge. A maximum of two uses can be kept in reserve for this move. Flame Charge can be upgraded to increase the length of time that Ceruledge’s basic attack speed is increased.

Ceruledge’s Unite Move, Revenant Rend

Ceruledge readies both of its arm blades before slashing through to the designated location faster than the eye can track. Ceruledge leaves opposing Pokémon it hits unable to act before striking them with three slashing blows.

Metagame Watch

Strong Against: Gardevoir

Ranged Attackers like Gardevoir are excellent at zoning Melee All-Rounders, but Ceruledge bucks this trend with incredible movement options between Phantom Force and Flame Charge. Its Unite Move, Revenant Rend, is also perfect for singling out Gardevoir at the beginning of a battle, which can result in a quick knockout and an even quicker team fight victory.

Weak Against: Snorlax

Melee All-Rounders can often succeed in a wide variety of situations, but Snorlax is one of the best at stopping Pokémon like Ceruledge in their tracks. Most importantly, Snorlax’s Block makes it difficult for Ceruledge to land basic attacks in both small skirmishes and larger team fights. Heavy Slam can also throw Ceruledge at the start of a fight to leave it defenseless. With Ceruledge, it’s best to keep track of Snorlax’s major cooldowns like Block and Heavy Slam before engaging it in battle with moves like Phantom Force or Flame Charge.
