Keep in touch with fellow Pokémon GO Trainers from around the world to celebrate Vivillon during the Scattered to the Winds event. From Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you’ll be encouraged to find pen pals as Scatterbug, Spewpa, and Vivillon make their Shiny debut in the game. Pinning Postcards from Trainers around the world will lead to encounters with Scatterbug, and if you’re lucky, you’ll find a Shiny one.

There will also be a variety of bonuses active during the event, including the following.

• 2× XP for spinning a PokéStop.

• 5× XP for spinning a PokéStop for the first time.

• Open up to 40 Gifts per day.

• Open up to 60 Gifts per day if you have purchased the Eggs-pedition Access: February ticket.

• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pidgey.

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild during this event. All them have a chance of appearing as Shiny Pokémon!

Lucky Exchange

In addition to trading Postcards, you’ll also want to trade Pokémon during this event. The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon a Trainer can receive in a trade has been increased from 25 to 35, and starting Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time, if you trade a Pokémon that has been in a Trainer’s Pokémon storage since 2019, it is guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokémon until the limit is reached! And don’t forget that this change will be permanent!

Research

Complete event-themed Field Research tasks to earn Rare Candy and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. You’ll also be able to take part in paid Timed Research for US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Complete tasks associated with this Timed Research to collect rewards including 16,500 Stardust, three Rare Candies, an event-themed avatar pose, encounters with event-themed Pokémon, and more. Please note that the tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
