Steel-type Pokémon are stealing the spotlight in Pokémon GO’s Test Your Mettle event, which will run from September 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time to September 21, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Steel your nerves to challenge mysterious Ultra Beasts in raids—the Steel- and Flying-type Pokémon Celesteela will appear in the Southern Hemisphere, and the Grass- and Steel-type Pokémon Kartana will appear north of the equator from September 13, 2022, to September 27, 2022. Check out the Kartana Raid Strategy Guide and Celesteela Raid Strategy Guide for more information about how to catch and utilize these Ultra Beasts. Mega Aggron will also pose a mega challenge to Trainers from September 16, 2022, to September 27, 2022. And, rounding out the debuts, the Electric- and Steel-type Roly-Poly Pokémon Togedemaru will roll into Pokémon GO just in time to help Trainers test their mettle.
The real appeal of this Steel-type event are the bonuses that will remain in effect throughout the event, including the bonuses for catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws: increased Candy and a better chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL. Many of these Pokémon, or their Evolutions, are popular in the GO Battle League. Battle-ready Trainers can keep an eye out for Beldum, Drilbur, and Shieldon to bulk up their Evolutions—Metagross, Excadrill, and Bastiodon—as well as Skarmory and Galarian Stunfisk. Catch as many of these Pokémon as possible to earn the necessary Candy to power them up, evolve them, and teach them a second Charged Attack.
Get ready to put your pedal to the metal, Trainers!
