Ash and Pikachu’s latest adventure has begun in Pokémon Journeys: The Series, the 23rd season of the iconic animated series. You can now get a taste of this new season by watching the first episode on Pokémon TV or the official Pokémon YouTube channel. This premiere episode, titled “Enter Pikachu!”, is a bit unusual in that it’s a flashback. We see Ash as a young boy, sleeping in too late and missing Professor Oak’s Pokémon Camp. And Pikachu, Ash’s eventual partner Pokémon, has yet to evolve—it’s still a Pichu!
The episode follows Pichu as it befriends a group of Kangaskhan. Meanwhile, Ash is missing out on Pokémon Camp, but two youngsters named Goh and Chloe are in attendance. The pair get separated from the group and have an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Mew. This sets the stage for the rest of Pokémon Journeys: The Series, when Ash and Goh eventually meet and set off together on their shared quest to explore the world of Pokémon.
Remember, you can catch the first episode of Pokémon Journeys: The Series on Pokémon TV—here on Pokemon.com or using the Pokémon TV mobile app—or by visiting the official Pokémon YouTube channel. You can then stream the rest of the season on Netflix. The first 12 episodes are available to watch on Netflix now, and more episodes will be added every three months for the duration of the season. Tune in to see what new escapades (and what new Pokémon) await Ash, Pikachu, and their friends!
