Flareon ex
Flareon ex has two useful attacks. The first, Burning Charge, does 130 damage for 1 and 1 Energy, lets you search your deck for 2 Basic Energy cards, and attaches those cards to a Pokémon. The Energy can help accelerate a Benched Pokémon or can be attached to Flareon ex itself so that it can use its second attack, Carnelian, which does 280 damage for 1 , 1 , and 1 Energy.
That combination of Energy might be familiar to those who recall the Evolutions of Eevee that were originally discovered in Kanto…and all three of them are included in this deck! They each have a 280-damage attack that uses 1 , 1 , and 1 Energy. Even Eevee ex can use its Coruscating Quartz attack for the same Energy cost, doing 200 damage.

Strategy
Eevee’s Boosted Evolution Ability lets it evolve on your first turn (or the turn it came into play) as long as it’s in your Active Spot. This means that with the help of Glass Trumpet and a means to switch Eevee from the Bench into the Active Spot, you can get a new Eevee Evolution ready straight out of the gate! To make things even easier, you can use Arven to find an Item card (like Glass Trumpet!) and a Pokémon Tool card. For the latter, you can find Rescue Board to turn any 1-Retreat Cost Pokémon into a free retreat pivot to more easily enable this strategy, or perhaps use a Sparkling Crystal to reduce the attack cost of any Tera Pokémon it’s attached to.
Additionally, Eevee ex can evolve into Flareon ex, Vaporeon ex, or Jolteon ex using its Rainbow DNA Ability to bypass the normal “Evolves from” line on its evolved forms, while also enabling effects that require a Tera Pokémon to be in play. Speaking of Tera-reliant effects, Noctowl’s Jewel Seeker Ability lets you find any 2 Trainer cards from your deck, but only if you have a Tera Pokémon in play (like Eevee ex). As many Trainer cards can often be used to find Pokémon or Energy in your deck, Jewel Seeker effectively lets you find owl of the cards you might need in a particular moment.
If it’s your first turn, STOP! Consider making the first Pokémon you search for Fan Rotom, as its Fan Call Ability can only be used on your first turn. But these restrictions bring fantastic potential, letting you find 3 Pokémon with 100 HP or less—including evolved Pokémon like Noctowl—and adds them to your hand.

Evan Pavelski's
Dragon Slayer
Regidrago VSTAR was the most popular deck at the 2024 World Championships. Evan Pavelski even took it all the way to the top as the Senior Division World Champion. “There’s no deck that fully counters it,” he said before the final match. A large part of that power stems from Regidrago VSTAR’s inherent flexibility, as its Apex Dragon attack can channel the attacks of any Dragon type in your discard pile.

Strategy
This deck is all about charging up and enabling Regidrago VSTAR’s Apex Dragon.
First, since Apex Dragon can only copy attacks from your discard pile, you’ll need to find a way to get strong attackers there. Thankfully, Regidrago VSTAR can use its once-per-game VSTAR Power, Legacy Star, to discard 7 cards from the top of your deck, pick any 2 cards in your discard pile (including those that weren’t milled by this effect), and then add them to your hand. This can be a good way to scrounge up cards like Ultra Ball or Earthen Vessel to discard Dragon Pokémon stuck in your hand, or perhaps find ways to get the Energy needed to use Apex Dragon onto Regidrago VSTAR.
Speaking of Energy costs, a downside of Apex Dragon is that 2 and 1 Energy are required for the attack. While this seems tough on the surface, charging up this attack is easier than it may seem. Namely, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex’s Teal Dance Ability lets you attach a Basic Energy from your hand to itself (not counting as your Energy attachment for the turn) and draw a card, too. If you have multiple copies of this Pokémon in play, each of them can use Teal Dance! This combines well with Superior Energy Retrieval, which not only returns up to 4 Basic Energy from your discard pile to your hand but also can help with discarding Dragon-type Pokémon. From there, you can use Energy Switch to move those Energy from Teal Mask Ogerpon ex onto your Regidrago VSTAR.
Squawkabilly ex is a universally useful card in most decks, but it can be exceptional in this one. Its Squawk and Seize Ability can only be used on your first turn, but it lets you discard your hand to draw 6 new cards. This, like many other cards in this deck, can discard Dragon Pokémon from your hand or maybe even Basic Energy cards. If you discarded some Energy, Squawkabilly ex’s Motivate attack can help attach them to one of your Benched Pokémon, like a Regidrago V or Regidrago VSTAR!
Dragon’s Hoard
By tier 61, the following cards will be granted to you:
3 Regidrago V SIT 184 |
3 Teal Mask Ogerpon ex PRE 145 |
2 Dragapult ex PRE 165 |
1 Giratina VSTAR CRZ GG69 |
4 Energy Switch SIT 212 |
1 Super Rod PAL 276 |
1 Switch MEW 206 |
You can swap these sparkly cards with the ones in your deck or use these extra copies to make the deck your own.
But that’s not the only treasure waiting for you! An additional ultra rare Regidrago V can be found if you reach tier 63 of the Battle Pass.
Finally, from tier 64 to 75, you’ll unlock a wealth of booster packs, Crystals, Credits, cosmetics, and even some Collector Crates. Once you reach the end of the Battle Pass, you’ll earn yourself an additional copy of Eevee ex as well as each of its eight Evolutions, all as special illustration rare cards!
Enjoy your new decks, cards, and Battle Pass, Trainers!
